𝐡𝐞’𝐬 𝐝𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐨𝐟 𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧
𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬! fluff, suggestiveness - talking about/hinting towards satoru fingering/eating you out but nothing happens, kissing, satoru fondly makes fun of you a lil, he also carries you around, collage au, collage student!reader, collage student!gojo
fey: I’m still gonna be on hiatus for a little longer but in the mean time have this fluff nugget inspired by my hubby
Satoru huffs and pokes your cheek till you swat his hand away. He flops on the bed next to you, the soft breeze and movement disturbing your carefully placed papers.
You whine “Satoru!”
“Sweet pie! You’ve been studying and working in that essay all day for the past three days please!” He throws his hand across his forehead, clutching his chest. “I beg of you feed me attention before I starve. I’m wilting away before you! How cold hearted can you be.” His eyes are with tears.
Tossing your throw blanket over him, “This should keep you warm.” You take you eyes off the screen to read the open text book next to you. Before referring to your notes then glancing back up at your computer screen.
He pops his head out from underneath the blanket with gasp. “No I’m not cold! You’re cold hearted!” He sits up and wraps his arms around you. “Please just an hour, we can order some food, take a shower get you out of your funky funk.” Pinching his nose and waving his hand in front of his face.
“You’re foul.”
You can hear the smile in his voice. “Like your armpits! Study starting break now! I your wonderful boyfriend refuse to let you be stinky.” He slowly closes the lid on the rough draft of your paper.“I’ll help you write some more after, if you don’t give your mind a break you’ll fry it and make it useless.” He kisses the top of your head.
“Let’s go lil’ stink!” He drags you off the bed, your feet dangle in the air as he holds you to his chest.
Squeezing you whilst you protest, “Hey you can’t steal that! I don’t wanna hear it from the one with the stanky attitude making me take a break for my health how dare you.” He carefully sets you down in the bathroom.
He waves a hand in your direction, “Yes yes, how dare I care for my beautiful girlfriend and rub her naked body down with my large soapy hands in a warm shower, that I as her perfect boyfriend know the temperature of.”
He lights some of the candles arranged around the bathroom. And starts the heater that he insists your bathroom needs. After not stepping into another cold bathroom after a hot shower you can understand why.
You rid yourself of your clothes, throwing them into the hamper. “Do you need to toot you own horn?” Relieving yourself then washing your hands.
Turning around and watching him strip. His arms flex as he pulls his black shirt off. His v line peeks out of his sweatpants, which he pushes down. Your gaze lingers on his soft cock and large balls before you glance up into his sparkling blue eyes.
He corners you against the counter, booping the tip of your nose with his long finger. “You’ve been neglecting me for days I might need to remind you what a awesome boyfriend I am! What if you’ve forgotten!” He pouts.
You slide your fingers through his soft silver white hair. Pulling him in, your lips close to his, “I could never forget, you won’t let me, but I suppose it’s part of your charm. I guess it’s kind of cute when you’re cocky.”
Satoru smirks into the slow passionate kiss he gives you. Lifting you up, reflexively you wrap your legs around his waist. It’s easy to forget everything when you’re kissing him. There is the safety of his arms, the sweet passion of his soft lips on yours.
When he breaks away Satoru suggests, “After our shower would it be too cruel of me to give my girl a happy ending? As some stress relief and reward for all her studying of course.” He massages your cheek. His large warm hand feels wonderful targeting your sore spots.
You softly groan, “Please! I don't know if I wanna ride your face, fingers or cock.”
“Why not all three one after another? I can suck on your pretty clit and let you cum on my fingers then I can fill you up.” He carries you into the warm shower, supporting you with one hand. Closing the curtain behind himself.
He stands underneath the warm water, steam billowing off it. “‘M sorry for not texting for three days, you know I’ve missed my amazing boyfriend, you’re just so talented at so many things like distracting me when I need to study.” He helps you onto your feet, placing your backside facing towards the rushing water.
He protests, “I can behave and help you study.” Pouring some of his favorite strawberry and sugar scented body wash onto his hand.
You close your eyes tilting your head back. Soaking your curls and letting the water wash over your face. The water melts away some of the tension building in your neck and shoulders.
You rub your right shoulder and winch whilst insisting, “You tell me that every time.” Turning around and stepping out of the water, closing your eyes. It’s relaxing knowing he’ll take care of you, from washing your body, to treating your curls to applying your face care.
Rubbing soap over your back and ass, leaving soapy white bubbles. He massages your shoulders whilst pleading his case, “Please lemme help you study! We have the same essay due and test to take. Our study sessions is how we got together I miss them.”
You softly sigh and cave in, “I miss them too, ok you win can stay, you’re too charming.”
He playful croons “I always win.” Kissing the top of your wet head. “You won't regret it I'll be the best study buddy!” You widely smile, the delight in Satoru’s voice is heartwarming.

BROOKLYN UNITY FEST:
There is strength in numbers and the Brooklyn Unity Fest went ahead to prove that theory in their 8th annual event. If someone were to question "Where Brooklyn at?" the proof would be front and center. Ultimately the Brooklyn Unity Fest gave back to its community in a major way!
Aside from its free giveaway on Summer Jam tickets, bikes and t-shirts — there was also a Fabolous Way 3 Point Contest and Stomp the Violence Dance Contest.
From the basketball courts, vendors, face painting, multiple stages and even a bouncy house — the festival made sure to bask in its pride.
Overall, everyone was very accepting. Once the performers went onstage their was a common ground shared between the younger and older generation.
Not only were their crowds of kids doing the Stanky Leg, but there was all smiles and a fascination towards the new age sound. Many of the artists recieved new fans but their main focus was giving their all in the name of hip-hop. The genre has taken them to new heights and for that matter they encourage others to follow their dreams. In a word, there was no other place that I wanted to be! The Brooklyn Unity Fest had great vibes. No wonder Brooklyn is the Most Thorough Borough! Their community is willing to give a lending hand if needed be.
Although I wasn't able to interview all of the performers, here are some brilliant creatives that I had an opportunity to speak with:
1. MARLEE HENDRIX: Known for being authentically dope, Mr. 70's cared to elaborate not only through his super fly assemble of jet-black boots (with flowers on the heel) fedora and lime green pants — but also through his genre-defying style of soul and hip-hop. At most, Marlee's palette for music brings his sound to life but what drives it even further are the artist that he's moved by. As said by Hendrix, the Temptations (and even Eminem) inspire him because of the different things they bring to the table. "Music is in my bones." Hendrix says.

2. SOULJIASPAIDE and EVELINASOWAVY: Two who share a bloodline, Souljiaspaide and Evelinasowavy do it to perfection. Even when they've been through the wringer, they're above it all and venture into money missions. Starting off her music journey when her mom bought a computer, Souljiaspaide began to record her own songs. Then as time passed, Evelinasowavy came in and did a solid 16 which left Souljiaspaide in awe. "I didn't even know she could rap." Likewise they share a love for hip-hop. For them it's everything and it all comes down to Tupac because he's an artist who educates. With this in mind, they want upcoming artist to stay positive. "Don't get annoyed," Evelinasowavy says. "It can happen. Don't let anything get in your way." Souljiaspaide adds.

3. D.CHAMBERZ and D.MCCRO: D.Chamberz and D.MCCRO wear a lot of hats in the music industry. While D.Chamberz brings the ruthless bars, D.MCCRO makes the soundscape so D.Chamberz can freely express himself. On a whole, D.Chamberz gained something from hip-hop and it helped him control his emotions. He puts his pen to the pad and works with a music group whereas D.MCCRO works in the hottest studios in New York. He is an engineer and producer. Motivated by money, both keep a green thumb. They’ve got their Benjamin’s aligned,

4. DATWINPRINCE: Swagful with the drip on his neck and wrist — DATWINPRINCE rode his own wave at the festival. As he gave the crowd a boost of energy when he performed "Drip 3X" DATWINPRINCE gleamed from ear-to-ear because it really just comes easy. Off the rip, DATWINPRINCE identifies as a professional Milly Rocker, dedicated singer and rapper. Still, the grind never stops. Every year he pushes even harder because it's all just preparation and practice. Good music goes a long way, "It made me realize I had a way to express the things I felt, but was always scared to say." DATWINPRINCE says. In the same way he is the voice for those who feel the same. The dope vibes never end. *Make sure to check out his latest single, "DRIP3X", it's on all streaming platforms.*

5. JX and BIG DAWG K: Real recognizes real & when I spoke to them I just knew they were it. Even though the two exinguish the blaze in their 16's alone, they create a mine field when facing their competitors. As an outsider, I could sense the energy they both share and I've got to say it's very inspiring. At just 9 years old JX was writing and so the pen manifested them into rhymes. Even at a young the first song he sung was"Hip-Hop Hurray." But JX hopes that his music inspires and encourages others to be themselves. In the same way Big Dawg K wants his music to say that dreams are achievable. "If you put your mind to it, you can achieve anything." Middle school was where his music journey started and for the MC, when he's onstage it's another day in the office. On the other hand, JX says to himself "let's go kill it". However they both just aim to have fun. Expect a mixtape from JX on DatPiff in July. For now check out Big Dawg K's album, Soul Food (on all streaming platforms) and JX's video "730 Freestyle" on Worldstar.

6. ZOE E ROSEGOLD: A 9-to-5 chick with a ride-or-die soul, Zoe stands for all the women in her sound. As she test all of the genre-elements, Zoe makes sure that her music is for self-enjoyment. Before she gets onstage, the star plans to deliver a message. However she really leaves it up to God. Aside from herself, she's really moved by the rap game because it's now given women a turn to dominate! Even though she just started her journey a year ago, music has always had a place in her heart. "I went to school and graduated with my nursing degree but the music just kept caling." she says. while you're on the road listen to her single, "Coke Music". It defines what her sound does to you.

7. FEE DOLLAZ: With swag on a mf'ing 1000, Fee Dollaz rap style goes untouched. She's really her best self on and off the stage so it's safe to say that she's going places. Although she's from D.C, the rap star felt right at home when entering the Greater New York. Hip-hop has always been a passion of hers and when she says she is tired of a 9-to-5, many "100" emojis go up in favor. Likewise, hip-hop for Fee is bouncy, fun and real. Expect a 90's twist in her sound along some personable rhymes. Her message to the upcoming artist is to be you and follow your dreams. Make sure to bump "Set it Off" on the road. But the best is yet to come! Stay tuned for her album "World of My Own."
INSTAGRAM: @feedollaz
MUSIC LINK: http://hyperurl.co/pwtl9q
8. LIVELIKEDAVIS: The epitome of the fire emoji, LIVELIKEDAVIS brings the flame in 2019 and for many years to come. An avid fan of his, it was only right to tell him how amazing "Choppa For Advice" was but what I came to learn is that LIVELIKEDAVIS has been getting spins from the DJ off the rip. LIVELIKEDAVIS has been pursuing music since he was 13 years old but it really got far once he blew up on Vine in 2013. LIVELIKEDAVIS says that hip-hop is for self-expression and allows one to put it all on the table. But what inspires him the most is hip-hop's ability to paint a vivid picture of the artist's backstory. His advice for all upcoming artist is to stay constistent and to never listen to anyone but yourself. Take his word for it. LIVELIKEDAVIS plans on releasing a project soon. My question is: Will the fans get to hear a Lil Tjay feature? Maybe so. Go and stream “BEYBLADE” now. It’s available on all platforms
INSTAGRAM: @livelikedavis
MUSIC LINK: https://ffm.to/qm7v17k
9. SANTOS: Santos has a larger than life personality. Not only does he carry the same influential power that music does, but he also has an business man mentality, because he’s about his business, man. Starting off with his own marketing company, Santos was blessed with the opportunity to showcase his talents to BET. In turn, Santos shined through the lights and now is apart of the show, Hustle in Brooklyn. Besides this Santos also has his own record label. When he scouts out for talent, they must have a vision and ambition. Really it just shows that they’re ten toes down for the long haul. Santos list women and his mother as personal inspirations. On the road Santos likes to shuffle between 50 Cent, Jay-Z, 2Pac and Biggie. His word of advice to any upcoming artist is to spend the same amount of money you would on Jordan’s on an LLC. If you can’t invest in yourself how do you expect for others to?

Throwback Thursday: 2009
So here’s what you missed in 2009.
What an eerie year 2009 was. I think back on it and I just feel uncomfortable. Of course losing anytime you lose a pop icon it leaves a morbid stain on the year, but Micheal Jackson - THE MICHEAL JACKSON. The King Of Pop, passed away June 25, 2009. To make it more devastating was the fact that he was gearing to go on his final tour “This Is It”. I don’t have run down his contributions to the music industry - we all know it, but I bet you still remember where you were when you heard the news like it was yesterday.
Also passing away June 25 was famous actress Farrah Fawcett, best known for being one of Charlie’s Angels. She wasn’t a musical icon, but she has her own staple in pop culture history.
Fans hate to talk about this but you can’t bring up this year without mentioning the infamous Chris Brown and Rihanna incident. Just a quick refresher, ‘Chrianna’ was the hot it couple at the time. People love a fine music duo I tell ya! Anywho, the night of the Clyde Davis party (Pre Grammys) the couple had a altercation in the car after leaving the Davis party. This incident left a battered Rihanna which the world saw thanks to the good ol’ internet. The fallout from this was Chris Brown’s career going into purgatory. He lost endorsement deals, his music wasn’t in rotation as it once was, and you have to remember at this time Chris was one of the few artist that dominated the music scene. So this was a hard fall.
We also have to talk about the rise of Trey Songz cause if we’re gonna tell it then we gotta tell it all. Now i’m sure I will get comments about this but - the fall of Chris Brown was Trey Songz chance. With that empty window in time Trey was able to boost his career to another level. Yes he’s been out years prior and had minor success but someone was always before him. There was no one there after this situation - the lane was wide open and he took it, as he should.
(I still cackle at this gif)
Now someone who also thought they can come and take the number spot was Keri Hilson, only problem was that lane was closed. It all started when Miss Keri Baby released the remix to her song “Turning Me On” where she rapped:
I ain’t tryin to start some mess There’s just somethin on my chest that I need to get off, Cause you turnin me off Your vision cloudy if you think that you’re the best You can dance she can sing but she need to move it to the… (don’t do it em) She need to go have some babies She needs to sit down, she fake Them other chicks ain’t even worth my time to talk about Been had dollars boy Go-on get your money up Know you’re ain’t the only homie on melined up I ain’t turnin it off I’m stay turnin it on Go-on and tell these folks how long I been writing your songs I been puttin you on, just check the credits ho And if you want me you can find me in the Decatur ho Cause you’re turnin me off
Fans took this as a diss to Beyonce and Ciara. I’m sure she had no clue what was about to happen with her career because of this. Fans would not let her live this down for a long time and as for that number 1 spot…reguardless of that Keri Hilson did come out with some jams that year.
2009 wasn’t all sad, we had some fun dances at the time like the Stanky Leg, Halle Berry and Swag Surf. Britney Spears was getting back on track musically and releasing some good pop songs. Pleasure P, formally of Pretty Ricky dropped his solo record and it was - GOOD!
At this time the world was slowly getting introduced to two up and coming rappers Drake and Nicki Minaj. Sure they were out previously but man - were they about to be known on a bigger scale.
You know what else you have to mention when you talk music in 2009?The ‘ 09 VMAs. Man were there so many gems that night from Beyonce and Lady Gaga’s performance. The infomance - Taylor, i’m happy for you but… Even as big as a moment as that was, Lil Mama crashing Jay-Z and Alicia Key’s performance had an explosive reaction. I even remember there being a Lil Mama banner on your twitter pic you could get.
Overall 2009 had its down moments but it wasn’t all bad. It was also my HS Graduation year so shout out to Bobby Valentino because my date and I came out to his song, “Beep” for the prom line up.
…and that’s what you missed on GLEE!…Oh I mean 2009.

She-Ra Season 3 - the search for her old behind
That's right! A She-Ra review.
I know that I'm not exactly the demographic.
So, let me explain.
How many of you are familiar with the beer "Tropical Bitch"? I know, it sounds made up, but it's a real thing.
It's actually a pretty good beer. If you like IPA's with a lil fruitiness and a lot of attitude, then TB could be the beer for you. This post brought to you by Flying Dog Brewery.
Well, I had more of the TB than I was striving for; I'm an overachiever. I had a host at a party who just kept chucking them at me. As soon as I finished one, another beer was flying towards my face - that's hospitality, ladies and gentlemen... and some damned fine enablement
I got home, went to my room, turned on Netflix, fell out on the bed, and what do I SEE??! - "She-Ra and the princesses of power"! - it was the new joint though, and season 3.
Now, new or old, I normally would have said "What the hell? Netflix, how dare you think that I'd watch this??!" and moved on, but I was bewitched by Tropical Bitches... plus the Sandman was creeping closer and closer to me. I think it was the Sandman (no one really knows what he or SHE looks like, right??), it could have been something paranormal/X-File-worthy... or maybe that homeless guy snuck into my place again.
Regardless, me, TB power, and the cuddling Sandman decided to watch "She-Ra". I didn't make it far, BUT what I remember... Whew!
Yeah, not much... but that won't stop me from reviewing it.
Like I said, She-Ra is new now... and YOUNG! Where did old She-Ra go? I was first introduced to She-Ra back when I was a kid, and I used to watch
He-Man!
He-Man was dope when I was a kid. Then, they brought in She-Ra, and we all thought they were gonna hook up!
But, years later, we remember He-Man, and...
I'm sure he hooked up with people, but not anyone who looked like She-Ra.
Old She-Ra's probably kickin about 60 now, right?? Madonna's 60. Madonna's still got it!
I mean, I’m not always sure what look she’s going for, but
...
...
But, she’s still got it!
Though Madonna had better be careful with those dance moves that she still does. She could twist the wrong way, and her hip bone could pop out; nothing sexy about that.
Sorry, is that not Madonna in there? My bad.
Regardless, this She-Ra issue is straight up ageism!
They probably said "It's reboot time!"
She-Ra shows up -
"What? No! Getcho old ass outta here! Nobody wants to see you dressed like that no more!" I bet you she put up a fight, and threatened to go to the papers! Now, while they shouldn't have been scared (cuz, c'mon, it's 2019... "THE PAPERS"??) she prob still "disappeared".
Her wardrobe though -
She'd grab the sword powered by feminism, grow to like 10 feet tall, and her skirt would shrink to like 4 inches in length.
C'mon, man! Now, y'all are doing that with a teenager?? Have some decency!
I saw a black dude in there. He was standing next to She-Ra in a band of princesses.
She-Ra did her growth thing, the black dude looked up to talk to her and... well, you can imagine. It was awkward. I want to know what happened to all of the other men, cuz he is the only one that my previously tropical-bitched mind can remember. And what did he have to endure in order to be the one guy left around... getting blamed for everything:)
Being the only guy in a room full of women - I've been there:
(watching Tv - Elizabeth Warren pops-up on the screen):
Woman 1 - "I love her so much!" Woman 2 - "Me too!" Woman 3 - "I'm drunk! I mean, me three!"
Woman 1 - "What do you think, lone guy?"
Lone Guy - "Yeah, I mean, she's aiight. I WAS riding with Hickenlooper. You know, he's name makes me laugh and all. But, yeah, she's ok."
Woman 1 - "Ok?? *shakin her head* Of course you're going to vote for a MAN, even one with a ridiculous last name."
Lone Guy - "No, it's not that."
Woman 1 - "Just wanna keep us down, don't you?"
Lone Guy - "... no?? Hey, why don't we change the channel?"
Woman 2 - "Mmmhmm" (changes channel - stops on a Nicki Minaj video)
Lone Guy - "Aw Yeah! That's my jam!"
Woman 2 - "I bet it is... Psssh, Oh my God, Woman 3, look at her butt. It's SO BIG. Lone Guy, you only like her cuz she looks like a total prostitute."
Woman 3 - "I think it's liberating to dress like that!"
Woman 2 - "Woman 3!"
Woman 3 - "Sorry. I meant I'M DRUNK!"
Woman 2 - "It's SO BIG! I can't believe it's just so round, it's like out there... I mean gross, look... she's just so...
Woman 1 - "Alright, alright, Woman 2. We're changing the station. Apparently, women are good enough to shake their asses in Lone Guy's face, but not good enough to run our country."
Lone Guy - "... *heavy sigh* Let's eat! What do you say??! (Long Guy eats some homemade pie). "Hmm! Woman 1, you made this, right?! It's delicious!"
Woman 1 - ("Hey, rambling Praphit, we DO have names!") Actually, my husband baked it. Ok? He let allowed me to leave the kitchen for a little bit." *glaring at Lone Guy*
Lone Guy - (taking a long gulp of vodka) "Did I mention how good you look in those jeans?"
Tammy (previously Woman 1) - "I know what you're doing... BUT THANK YOU :) *now all smiles*
Gladys (prevously Woman 2) - (thinking to herself - "Wait a minute, he told me that I look good in my jeans. Hmmmmmmm") *glaring at Lone Guy*
Becky (previously Woman 3) - "I'm drunk!" (she passes out)
---------------
This is his whole life.
I remember him raising his voice to the ladies at one point. He was like "She-Ra, we're going the wrong way!"
She-Ra: Are you telling ME what to do? Black Dude: "Well... it's just that you're holding the map upside down." She-Ra: "Oh, I'm a woman holding a map, please send the man to come explain it to me!"
Black Dude: "No, no... "
She-Ra: "You condescending asshole."
Black Dude: "I would never be that way with you... holding such a large, sharp sword.
*dead silence*
She-Ra: "Take him to the room!"
Black Dude: "Please no! Not again! I'll be good!"
She-Ra: "I'll deal with you later." --------------------
I don't know whether I dreamt this or not, but I visualize a room that She-Ra sends people to. We never know what goes on in there, but they hate going in, and they always leave crying and broken.
People, I didn't want to mention it, but there's some race stuff too!
There was a point when She-Ra and the team meet at an abandoned house. They want to sleep there.
Now, there's a Latina character named Catra, and she's drawn as a beast.
PEOPLE I'M JUST TELLIN YA WHAT I SAW. She-Ra and the others decided to rest for the night, but she finds a broom and tells Catra to clean this place up a lil first.
Catra: "What?! By myself?! Why?!"
She-Ra: "Cuz you're so good at it."
Catra: "But I always have to do this kind of thing!"
She-Ra: "So you won't mind doing it again."
Catra: *Growls*
She-Ra: "Now, Catra, no reason to get all uppity. Be quick about it though, we need to get bed early. ... oh, and we seem to be low on beds. You don't mind sleeping on the floor do you.?"
One of the other girls: "Or in the tree, you are a CAT hahahaha."
She-Ra: "... What? She's only joking, Catra. But, I mean, she's right, you are... "
Catra: "THAT IS IT! *strangles She-Ra*
(They help She-Ra)
She-Ra: "*breathing heavily, while holding her throat* You just earned yourself a ticket to the room! Two of you take her back there now. I'll deal with her later."
Wild for a kids cartoon, right?? I know! I couldn't believe it either.
Despite all of this, it's a colorful, action-packed, a lot of positive team building messages, a good girl power cartoon. There are also some monsters, and some thrilling moments. You just have to ignore everything I've said previously :)
And that's not a big deal to do. Kids don't see that type of thing anyway.
Remember Wile E Coyote and the Roadrunner?
The coyote kept getting seriously and continuously injured due to using those damned ACME products! All he was trying to do was feed his family. He never did catch the roadrunner. His family probably starved, and devoured each other. Meanwhile, we're just yucking it up!
Ha! It IS funny though. Wile E Coyote, comedic genius.
All in all I give She-Ra Season 3 an A*
* = drunk on Tropical Bitch
I imagine the end of season 3 being dark. She-Ra goes walks into her basement, and then through a secret path, down a long poorly lit hallway to find... ... OLD She-Ra.
She's chained to a chair. Her clothes and body all dirty and stanky. Her hair mangled. Her body weak from not eating. Her legs have grown hairy. No, you don't understand - like, REALLY REALLY REALLY HAIRY.
Young She-Ra looks down at Old She-Ra -
"I can't believe that you really thought your old ass could be She-Ra.
I’M SHE-RA! You should be thanking me for locking you up, so that you don't embarrass yourself out there. (she gets real close to the former She-Ra) You know they're never going to find you, right? They don't even know that you're alive."
Old She-Ra: "My friends... my friends WILL come for me."
Young She-Ra: "I doubt it... especially since the old friends that you have left keep having accidents."
Old She-Ra: "What?"
Young She-Ra: (Pulls out a bag from behind her back. She opens it and turns it upside down... the head of an old He-Man plops down.) "Hahahahaha"
Old She-Ra: *speechless and horrified*
Young She-Ra: "I know you're upset. But, I'm gonna turn that frown upside down. We're about to have some fun."
Old She-Ra: "Wait, no no! PLEASE! You can't do this! Please!"
Young She-Ra: "Say my name, bitch."
Old She-Ra: "No! She-Ra No! Please! She-Ra plase! (camera turns away)
"SHE-RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"
(Cue cheesy coked-up 80's producer voice: "And the princesses of powerrrrrrrrrrrrrr! *echo*"
THE END
Hell yes! I can't wait for season 4.

Dance, Dance, Litigation: Can Copyright Protect Your Funky Get-Down?
Few among us do no not enjoy a good rug-cutting, especially this time of year, when the eggnog runs thick and free and Wham! booms from every other stereo. We don’t pause to think, though, whether our signature transition from the Running Man to the Milly Rock to the Stanky Leg to the Cabbage Patch and then BACK to the Running Man (oh snap, nobody saw that coming!) is protected by intellectual property laws.
Ridiculous, you say? This columnist has had one too many hot toddies, you say? Not at all; the issue of whether intellectual property law offers protection for dance routines has pop-locked its way into courtrooms for decades and recently appeared again in not one but two federal lawsuits.
In the first, New Orleans Bounce Queen Big Freedia brought suit again her erstwhile choreographer Wilberto Dejarnetti seeking declaratory relief in the form of an order stating that Big F owns her choreography and that she need not make payment to Dejarnetti in order to keep on dancing. Bounce music, and the accompanying dance moves, have been a big part of New Orleans culture for decades, stretching back to the B.L.W. (Before Lil Wayne) era. Dejarnetti, as the choreographer, may have a strong claim to ownership of the routines, but the question of whether they are protectable and whether they were created as a work-for-hire are both likely to be addressed.
The second is even more fascinating, as it relates to not just dancing, but avatars in a video game performing a dance popularized via YouTube by rapper 2 Milly, all of which could not be more 2018. The game, Fortnite, also happens to be the most popular game of the modern era. While free to download, the company behind the title, Epic Games, has raked in hundreds of millions of dollars via in-game purchases and other ancillary revenues.
2 Milly’s complaint alleges that he created the Milly Rock dance in 2011 and then, as required for copyright protection, fixed it in a tangible medium of expression by posting a music video on YouTube in which he performs the dance with his friends in his Brooklyn hometown. The video went viral and eventually garnered 18 million views and a host of celebrity fans like Rihanna, Chris Brown, and Wiz Khalifa, who each posted videos of themselves doing the signature dance.
In 2018, Fortnite released its Season 5 Battle Pass, an update to the game that allowed players to obtain certain new dance moves (or, in game parlance, “emotes”), including a dance called “Swipe It,” which was a recreation of the Milly Rock dance. Players paid to access the Battle Pass and then, upon reaching Tier 63, were able to access and have their avator perform Swipe It.
So, there is no question that Epic exploited 2 Milly’s dance in Fortnite and profited from that exploitation. And, since 1976 when the Copyright Act was amended to provide for the first time protection to “pantomimes and choreographic works,” dances like 2 Milly’s are protectable. The only question remaining is whether that exploitation of the dance rises to the level of infringement.
To arrive at the answer we must start in the downward dog position. In the 2015 case of Bikram’s Yoga Coll. of India, L.P. v. Evolation Yoga, LLC, the Ninth Circuit had to decide “whether a sequence of twenty-six yoga poses and two breathing exercises developed by Bikram Choudhury and described in his 1979 book, Bikram’s Beginning Yoga Class, [was] entitled to copyright protection.” The Ninth Circuit, in reviewing the facts, looked at the scope and applicability of copyright protection for a fixed sequence of physical movements.
They also explored the issue of copyright protection for choreographic works, noting that the term “choreography” had not yet been “defined in the copyright context,” but did not include “social dance steps and simple routines.” What was found to protectable under copyright was a “related series of dance movements and patterns organized into a coherent whole.” And dance moves were defined as “static and kinetic successions of bodily movement in certain rhythmic and spatial relationships.” As an aside, next time you are up in the club, I encourage you to ask a friend to accompany you to the dance floor to engage in some funky static and kinetic successions of body movement. Lawyers, we really do take the fun out of everything.
In any event, the Ninth Circuit found in the Bikram’s case that the sequence of moves at issue did not quality as choreography and was not copyrightable. 2 Milly is, unfortunately, likely to face a similar fate in connection with his copyright claim.
The primary infirmity of his claim is that the Milly Rock dance, while awesome, is a relatively simplistic two-step comprised of basic elemental moves. In the Second Circuit case entitled, Horgan v. Macmillan, Inc., which addressed the copyrightability of ballet moves, the court noted that “simple routines are not copyrightable…. Thus, for example, the basic waltz step, the hustle step, and the second position of classical ballet are not copyrightable.” The Second Circuit did note that their finding was “not a restriction against the incorporation of social dance steps and simple routines, as such, in an otherwise registrable choreographic work. Social dance steps, folk dance steps, and individual ballet steps alike may be utilized as the choreographer’s basic material in much the same way that words are the writer’s basic material.” But, here it would appear that there are not enough dance elements, basic or creative, woven together to create a protectable work.
While the legal claims are not strong, there is a morality dimension to this dispute that should not go unaddressed. Epic has made boatloads of cash from Fortnite, and an appreciable amount of the game’s appeal comes from the emotes, including Swipe It, the Milly Rock facsimile. So, while there may be no legal obligation to compensate 2 Milly (and the others whose dances have been co-opted, including the guy who played Carlton on the Fresh Prince of Bel Air, the guy who played Job in Arrested Development, and, the guy who is everywhere, Snoop Dogg), from a business ethics (and optics) perspective, payment of just consideration would be a way for Epic Games to move to the next level.

Although I wasn't able to interview all of the performers, here are some phenomenal creatives (you read it right) that I had an opportunity to speak with:
1. JU-MO and E-MONEY TAGS: If you're wondering where the boosters at, you don't need to look any further. These two are willing to go the distance because they're asking the same thing! Originally from Brooklyn, NY — JU-MO's moniker stands for "Just Money" and his government. The MC even utilizes his creativity and goes as far as to create wristbands with all the currencies and his own clothing line thats displayed on a manequin! If that isn't cool enough then his music will heat things up, since that's its true purpose. Besides this, E-Money Tags is who he is. He's just happy and is living his best life. "They don't like us" and that's perfectly fine. JU-MO and E-Money Tags plan on spreading love, happiness and unity regardless. Go and stream “We the Boosters” now. It’s on all platforms. Music video coming soon.

2. AUDREY JACKSON: Humble, brave, dedicated and passionate Audrey Jackson has been singing since she was 2 and performed from 5th grade on up! However when she got to college and sung the national anthem for the Philadelphia 76ers thats when she started going full force with her career. Sultry by nature, Audrey Jackson heats things up with her vocal range and charisma. Before going onstage she talks to God and her grandma. She also asks them to be with her and wears something of her grandmas for more positive energy. One line that resonates with her is: Whenever someone push your back against the wall say I’m hear to stay. Her mixtape Misunderstood is coming soon and features Jahlil Beats. Instagram: @Iamaudreyjackson@Itsallmusicthemovement. Rel Carter director of A&R for Roc Nation. Her album called “ No Handouts” is available on every digital platform. Love triangle is available now on all digital platforms.

3. RICH CHINO and HOLLI TV: Rich Chino radiates love, not only in real life but also in his music because that’s what hip-hop means to him. Even when he’s taken a few L’s, Rich Chino would never wish harm upon those he cared for. He’d just rather not have them in his circle. A lot of people may say that Rich Chino has changed because he does his own thing but one thing is certain: He’ll always win. His track “Calling Mommy” is a dance song at most and makes one get up on that floor to show all the moves. His best friend Holli TV also did music and hops on a track from time to time but he’s mostly a comedian. A word of advice for inspiring creatives: Be yourself, be consistent and never let the hate affect you. Word on the block is that others respect the grind too, so how could they ever stop? Stay tuned for more content from Holli TV, go and stream “Calling Mommy” on SoundCloud.

Even though things are just starting for him, Lil Pooka has been creating music since he was 12 years old. Hip-hop is life for the reinforcer and he says that it’s half of him. “Hip-hop is a great way of self-expression.” Lil Pooka adds. One who gets hyped off an all-around grind, Lil Pooka prays for good vibes and new beginnings. Lil Pooka will always look to be a big influencer. For the culture, Lil Pooka says to “never cap.” Always tell your truth, no matter what. Stay tuned for new music soon.

5. SELF MADE STREETS: Putting his ego to the side, Self Made Streets makes things happen with one movement at a time. From the jump, he keeps it real and leaps into a sound that’s meant to inspire. Yet it all derives from his personal upbringings. “I’m reinventing myself right before your eyes.” says Self Made Streets. Still, as he teaches the generation — Self Made Streets is also learning and progressing. It’s two of the things he takes with him on a daily basis. Aside from an MC, Self Made Streets is an entrepreneur who believes in the power of change. Stream his latest tape No Turning Back. It’s on all platforms.

6. KING BRAIZE: An intricate wordsmith who reps the Garden State, King Braize lives to tell a message. His motto “Inspire yourself” speaks volume and pushes one to keep going (with or without support). King Braize is the voice of his people and brings awareness to the inequality between African American’s and todays era. Along his journey he wants peace, patience and happiness. He lives to focus on love because what is a better way to celebrate those that you hold close to your heart? What’s more important to him is just trusting the process. Follow the #KrownMovement and listen to his music. It’s available on all streaming platforms.

7. KHING JUS WURK: Khing Jus Wurk gives the music era something different. Instead of advocating drugs or sex — he uses his craft to enforce change and inspiration. He’d like for more kings to push kings because we have enough that are at war. For now though, Khing Jus Wurk will be the first to break the stigma(and to put in the overtime). If you haven’t grabbed a copy of XXL magazine, go and do so. Khing Jus Wurk made an appearance. Also make sure to stream his tape #3DayWeekend. It’s available on all platforms.

8. TEMMY BRIDGES AND DANYOSONN: Two who had to go and get it — Temmy Bridges and Danyosonn have been grinding for years. Originally from Canada, Temmy Bridges now lives in Brooklyn. He started rapping 7 years ago, but took it seriously once he saw that people were catching a vibe from it. Ultimately, hip-hop is a freedom of speech for him and with that, comes a risk but Temmy Bridges faces it head on. He’s willing to switch up the tone at all cost. Secondly, Danyosonn’s moniker was passed down from the Great Sensai. And while he has the boom, ba and bam — Danyosonn doesn’t use his talent to brag. Instead he uses hip-hop to relay how he feels because when words can’t get the energy across, his music does. Danyosonn has been on a non-stop grind since he was 16 years old. For him, the journey because in his bedroom where he put together his own studio. Even when he moved to Virginia, Danyosonn stayed consistent and has ran with it since. Now Danyosonn is working on a project that’s set to be released on July 4th. Make sure to check out “Stuck” ft. Temmy Bridges when it releases too! While others try to rent a place in the rap game, the duo shows why they own it. In the words of Danyosonn, they’ve just been ballin’ out like every season.
